Birdwatching on Global Big Day

A public birding event was organized by Aum, Zed.tells, Saryan Vigyan Foundation and Brelingi Youth Club on the day of Global Big Day. The event was organised in Brelingi where avid birdwatchers joined the global birding community in identifying birds, check listing and sound recording the diverse avifauna found in the region. Participants were encouraged to not only recognize different bird species but also to understand their habitats, behaviours, and the importance of conservation efforts.

Beyond mere observation, the event fostered a deeper engagement with nature through discussions on avian ecology and about the rich biodiversity of Kinnaur. To further enhance understanding and appreciation, a short film screening was organized, providing an immersive visual experience and insight into the role of Kinnaur's avian diversity. Through collaborative efforts and community involvement, the event not only celebrated the joy of birdwatching but also served as a platform for education, dialogue, and collective planning on future actions for conservation efforts.
